Problem :

Recently I was trying to bring up a Sitecore 10 instance on my local machine using the Getting-Started Template provided by Sitecore. I came across these names pipes errors

I initially fiddled around with the volume mappings in the docker-compose file to try and fix the issue as docker was complaining about it

Solution:

A quick search pointed me to this post, I tried disabling v2 with

docker-compose disable-v2

Unfortunately, this did not solve my issue

After some more pondering and searching , running compose with — no-deps solved the issue , — no-deps

docker-compose up -d --no-depsUsage: docker-compose up [options] [--scale SERVICE=NUM...] [SERVICE...]

print new container names. Incompatible with
--abort-on-container-exit.
--no-color Produce monochrome output.
--quiet-pull Pull without printing progress information
--no-deps Don't start linked services.
--force-recreate Recreate containers even if their configuration
and image haven't changed.
--always-recreate-deps Recreate dependent containers.
Incompatible with --no-recreate.
--no-recreate If containers already exist, don't recreate
them. Incompatible with --force-recreate and
--renew-anon-volumes.

--no-start Don't start the services after creating them.
--build Build images before starting containers.
--abort-on-container-exit Stops all containers if any container was

data from the previous containers.

in the Compose file.
--exit-code-from SERVICE Return the exit code of the selected service
container. Implies --abort-on-container-exit.

`scale` setting in the Compose file if present.
